UK based car insurance company Sheilas’ Wheels has come up with ‘Sheila Driving Heel’ - a shoe with a new design idea that makes driving for women both fashionable and safe. This shoe can change from stilettos into a stylish pair of heels just with one push of a button.
Heels have no grip, can get stuck under the pedal , on the other hand, flat shoes reduces pressure on the knee and lower back and increases the grip on the pedals.
Jacky Brown, spokesperson for Sheilas’ Wheels, said:
It’s astonishing that so many women are putting themselves, their passengers and other drivers at risk by wearing the wrong shoe or no shoe at all whilst behind the wheel. Stilettos, sling-backs and strappy sandals aren’t the sensible choice when it comes to controlling a car.
According to surveys, two thirds of the questioned women admitted to driving while wearing heels and around a third had worn flip-flops. Around 18% had worn no shoes while driving, which is dangerous and is currently illegal in some parts of the world.
The survey has also discovered that there is a general lack of awareness among women with more than half of them admitting to have believed that sports trainers were the safest to drive in - in spite of their thick soles and plump design which restricts the control over the pedals.
This stilettos-heels shoe is a futuristic concept for sophisticated women. So Girls, start now and find your own pair!
